The annual London INDIAN Film Festival is back in town for the fifth year celebrating the exploding movement of Indian Independent cinema and bringing to UK audiences a rare selection of cutting-edge films from some of the Indian subcontinent’s hottest independent talents.
The largest platform for Indian cinema in Europe, going way beyond Bollywood, the festival presents a kaleidoscope of new films that challenge, shock, generate debate and present a more realistic view of India and the subcontinent today, in all its diversity.
The festival will stretch citywide, opening in the West End at the historic Cineworld Haymarket, and continuing at BFI Southbank, selected Cineworld cinemas Wembley and ICA at Pall Mall.
The first weekend of this high-impact festival launches with Sold, on 10th July which explores the controversial theme of child trafficking; Executive produced by actor Emma Thompson and Gillian Anderson stars with a great Indian and Nepali ensemble cast.
In addition to showcasing various films over the week, there will be some special talks. India’s most celebrated cinematographer and acclaimed director Santosh Sivan will give a unique Masterclass at BFI Southbank. The multi-talented singer, actor and director Farhan Akhtar will offer an insight on his high-octane career so far, including his iconic recent role as muscle rippling athletics hero Milkha Singh in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

Summer Streets returns to Regent Street for a second year of summer fun, with a wide range of events and activities taking place.
This Sunday 27 July between 12pm-6pm Summer Streets Presents Magnum’s 25th Birthday, celebrating 25 years of delicious cracking chocolate and ice cream at its best.
Members of the public will be given the chance to enjoy freshly dipped Magnums at the world-famous Dipping Bar where Magnum will be distributing 25,000 ice creams to shoppers.
This is the 4th and final traffic-free Sunday in Regent Street. Magnum will see Summer Streets out in style with a live DJ booth and a dress exhibition to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Marking the finale to its #MagnumDresscode campaign, the final exclusive Henry Holland dress, designed to celebrate the brand’s 25th birthday and inspired by the Magnum Classics range will be available to win.
