The Royal Geographical Society presents a unique, photographic exhibition celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the first successful expedition, to reach the summit of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the World, by Sir Edmund Hillary (British) & Tenzing Norgay (Nepalese). Rare, iconic photographs of this momentous, historic event are on display as a collection, for the first time, which explore the team’s journey up the mountain and presents an opportunity to see the unique images taken by the team members, including Sir Edmund Hillary’s infamous shot of Tenzing Norgay standing on the summit waving his ice axe. The 47 limited edition photographic prints have been created from original photography possessed by the Royal Geographical Society. These prints are available to buy and come embossed with the Society’s Royal crest and a certificate of authenticity. Opening times 11am-6pm daily.
