Set in a basement on Wardour Street, this small intimate space was used for storing coal, hence the name. A quirky skeleton greets you at the entrance on ground level, before you descend into the bar. Open seven days a week, the bar has five separate vaults which can be used for private parties. The cocktails are all made with home-infused blends (hence them being very strong!) and quirky receipes. The main ones to try are ‘Marano’ which is served in 2 separate glasses and you have to sip from each one to savour the sweet & sour taste combination and ‘Mirto Rosso’ which is made using an Italian blueberry liquor and served on crushed ice. Definitely a bar to visit to enjoy the truly unique cocktail concoctions.
