Bounce is located in the City and on the very site where the actual game of Ping Pong was invented back in 1901. It is Europe's largest purpose built 'Social Ping Pong Club,' with 17 bespoke designed ping pong tables and includes the London 2012 Olympic final table along with the official 2012 World Championship Final table, which have a prominent place in the centre of the venue.
Tables can be pre-booked or you can walk-in. Quality bats and a cute bucket of balls are given per table. In order to utilise your table booking efficiently, no need to worry about running around picking them up. A lovely ‘ball steward’ walks around the venue with the quirkiest of broom nets which enables all fallen balls to be swiped up in one easy swoosh. Whether you are competing with friends or colleagues, make sure to record your victory by booking a ‘Bounce Cam.’ This mobile unit is placed at the centre edge of the table and will record a portion of your game and convert the material into a condensed highlights clip, which will be emailed to you within 48 hours, for you to share with your guests and indeed... with the world!! How cool is that!
This lively quirky venue is great for a catch up with friends, celebrations, team building and also networking. For a group booking, a bounce host can also be arranged who will guarantee your group a fantastic night of ping pong.
Every Friday the venue hosts a ‘Games Table,’ where play is free and a selection of bespoke games are played, from 10pm.
Bounce is a fun venue, decorated with all things ‘ping pong.’ The bar has ping pong inspired cocktails and whilst playing table service is provided. The lovely Italian pizza restaurant is a must try. Probably the only place to serve ‘pulled pork’ pizza…yum! The hot dog from the bar menu is also delicious. Eat, drink and pong!
Open from 4pm daily with earlier opening hours at the weekend, this venue has taken the city by storm and will surely be expanding soon.
A totally, unique interactive, theatre–dining experience held in the Charing Cross Hotel’s Torquay suite. For any fan of the hit 1970’s British TV series Fawlty Towers, this is a definite must! Imagine being on the real TV show and voila… the experience you will partake in is exactly that. Entertained by none other than the brash Basil Fawlty, his bossy wife Sybil and the infamous Spanish waiter Manuel, this show will have you in hysterics from start to finish.
To begin with all the guests are gathered in Basil’s bar having a drink, waiting to be seated at their table. This is when the actors, all dressed exactly like the stars on the show enter and the show begins. Enjoy every moment, joke around with all of them and take as many pictures as you like, but no videos! All guests are seated at their tables, which are set for ten guests. If you can get a group together to have your own table that would be fantastic, but if not, you will be seated with others. Everyone is really friendly and sociable, after-all you are being hosted by the Fawlty’s.
As only a third of this show is actually scripted, the rest is all improvised by Basil, Sybil and Manuel. They will come to your table and you are guaranteed two hours of continuous mayhem and laughter, all whilst having your meal. The food served is simple classic British and is from a fixed menu. If you are vegetarian or have any special meal requirements, please do mention this when booking your ticket and your request will be catered for.
As with the TV show, there will be plenty of disruptions during your meal so please do relish them all. This dining experience is only available at the weekends. If you would like to book a room at the hotel there is a special ‘Faulty Towers’ rate. The hotel is on the Strand in Central London.
